Public and Third Sector

Accessible by default, documented for scrutiny, and built to be handed over.

For local services, charities, housing associations, community organisations and other public purpose bodies.

What makes this sector different

  • Public sector websites and apps must meet accessibility regulations.
  • Spending must be justified, transparent and able to withstand scrutiny.
  • Procurement may require evidence such as Cyber Essentials.
  • Services must work for everyone, including people with low digital confidence.
  • Systems must be maintainable by someone other than the original supplier.

What we usually find

  • Online services so hard to use that people phone instead.
  • Case information held in spreadsheets and inboxes.
  • Reports to funders and boards prepared by hand every quarter.
  • Systems that only the original supplier knows how to maintain.
  • Accessibility statements that do not match what the site actually does.

What we build for public and third sector organisations

  • Accessible service portals and online forms
  • Case management systems
  • Reporting for funders, boards and regulators
  • Public websites
  • Volunteer, member and beneficiary management
  • Booking and referral systems

How we handle the requirements

We build to WCAG 2.2 Level AA and publish accurate accessibility statements. Everything is documented so that another team could maintain it, and we avoid unnecessary lock in. Costs are visible at every phase. We operate to the Cyber Essentials controls and are working towards certification, and we will not display it until it has been awarded.
