Education

Platforms that are accessible, safe and genuinely usable by everyone who has to use them.

For schools, colleges, universities, training providers and education businesses.

What makes this sector different

  • Safeguarding must shape how children’s and learners’ data is collected, stored and shown.
  • Accessibility is a legal duty for many providers and a practical necessity for all.
  • Users range from young learners to teaching staff, administrators and parents.
  • Institutional data must be handled carefully and kept for the right length of time.
  • Budgets are limited, so every pound must deliver something people actually use.

What we usually find

  • Separate systems for enrolment, learning and communication that do not talk to each other.
  • Parents and learners who cannot find the information they need without phoning.
  • Administrative work that takes staff away from teaching.
  • Public websites that fail basic accessibility checks.
  • Platforms bought for their feature list that nobody finds easy to use.

What we build for education providers

  • Learning platforms and course delivery
  • Student and parent portals
  • Enrolment, admissions and administration systems
  • Timetabling and scheduling tools
  • Communication and notification tools
  • Accessible public websites

How we handle the requirements

Everything is designed to WCAG 2.2 Level AA and tested by hand with a keyboard and a screen reader, not only with automated tools. We collect only the personal data that is needed, control access by role and record who has viewed sensitive information. Interfaces are designed for the youngest and least confident user first. Where the project allows, we test with real learners, staff and parents before launch.
